Biblical nations and cities, once thought to be mythological (such
as the Hittites, the Canaanites, Jericho, and Sodom and Gomorrah), have
proven to be historical by modern archaeology. Not surprisingly, the
primary road map for Middle East archaeologists has always been the
Genesis account, as it has never shown inaccuracy.
The self-proclaimed Messiah, Jesus Christ, incorporated literal Genesis
history within His teachings. He spoke of an historical Sodom and Gomorrah,
and He spoke of a literal and global flood which devastated the world,
ten generations before the time of Abraham. So, Jesus cannot be the
Messiah, should Genesis prove fallacious, because He would then be seen
as a liar or a lunatic for teaching such "mythologies."
Several hundred tribes and many ancient civilizations offer oral traditions
and written records describing a worldwide flood. The details of this
flood story vary, but the main themes of this event (as depicted in
Genesis) are revealed in composites of these various pagan accounts.
The Greenlander tribe says that seashells in mountain-rocks resulted
from this global flood. (Which is true; however, the mountains actually
uplifted at the close of the flood. Geology shows that sediments rapidly
entombed the creatures before tectonic forces caused the mountain uplifts.)
Modern paleontology confirms that kinds of animals have never evolved
into "new" kinds of animals. Natural selection does occur
within the respective animal kinds, but only because of genetic loss
("speciation"), not because of genetic enhancement (Darwinian
evolution). The "races" of humanity did "naturally select,"
as they moved away from Mesopotamia during the centuries after the Flood,
but they did not divergently set off on separate paths of mutation-driven
genetic "enhancement" (an oxymoronic notion, as mutations
always destroy or merely re-arrange genetic sequences, they never add
genetic information).
Dragons ("dinosaurs") have demonstrably been with us throughout
human history, and the rock-dating and carbon 14-dating methods are
shown to be fraught with unknowable presuppositions and interpretational
inconsistencies; so, good reasons to discount the Genesis account seem
lacking. Remember, Jesus' integrity is at stake here: He is a liar,
or a lunatic, or who He says He is.
Much geological, anthropological, and historical evidence indicates
that the Ice Age occurred during the 800 years, or so, after the Flood.
Linguistic, historical, and archaeological analyses confirm the historicity
of the Tower of Babel debacle (some 200 years after the Flood). The
application of Einstein's Theory of General Relativity to the observed
cosmos allows a cogent and explanatory theory for a "young"
cosmos.
Is Jesus delusional, such that "His Book" is just one big
pack of lies? Or, is the Bible all true, and modern-mainstream science
has unconsciously (and sometimes consciously) portrayed fiction as fact,
as to facilitate societal distrust of Holy Scriptures? Please read OLD
EARTH? WHY NOT! to digest much controversial and enlightening information
of which most people are unaware.
